Joy-Con Drift Repair

95 Worcester St, Natick, MA 01760 · (508) 810-2002 · Mon–Fri 9AM–7PM · Sat 10AM–6PM

End drift permanently with Hall-effect sticks

Joy-Con drift — your character moving on its own — is caused by wear inside the analog stick module, and it always comes back if you just clean it or swap in the same part. We install Hall-effect stick modules that sense position magnetically with no contact wear, so the drift is gone for good. For a breakdown of repair options by Switch model — original, OLED, Lite and Switch 2 — see our Joy-Con Drift Repair page.

Fast, cheap, both controllers

Joy-Con stick replacement is one of our quickest jobs — drop off in the morning, often same-day pickup. We do standard replacement sticks too if you prefer the lower price, and we repair Pro Controller and PS5 DualSense drift the same way (yes, DualSense drifts too — Hall sticks fix that as well).

Worth fixing vs. replacing

A new Joy-Con pair costs $80+; a stick repair is a fraction of that. If the rails, buttons or battery are also tired we'll quote the full refresh up front.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Joy-Con drift repair take?

Most Joy-Con stick repairs are completed the same day — often within a few hours of drop-off. We start with a free diagnostic to confirm the fault and give you a firm quote before any work begins.

What makes Hall-effect sticks better than the original Joy-Con sticks?

Original Joy-Con sticks use carbon contact pads that wear down over time, causing drift. Hall-effect sticks sense position with magnets — no physical contact, no wear surface, so drift cannot come back the same way. It is a permanent fix rather than a temporary one.

Will the drift come back after a Hall-effect upgrade?

No. Because Hall-effect modules have no contact surface to wear, they do not develop the drift pattern that original sticks do. Our Joy-Con Hall-effect upgrades carry a 6-month warranty, and we have not seen drift return on them.

Do you fix Pro Controller and PS5 DualSense drift too?

Yes — we install Hall-effect stick upgrades in Nintendo Pro Controllers and PS5 DualSense controllers using the same approach. Both are quick bench jobs, usually same-day.

Do I need an appointment to drop off my Joy-Cons?

No appointment needed. Walk-ins are welcome Mon–Fri 9AM–7PM and Sat 10AM–6PM at 95 Worcester St in Natick. There is a free parking lot right at the shop.

What warranty do I get on the Joy-Con repair?

Every Joy-Con stick repair — Hall-effect or standard — carries a 6-month warranty on parts and labor. If the same fault returns within 6 months, we fix it at no charge.
