USB-C charging port — the Switch's weak spot

The Switch's charging port is soldered directly to the main board and wears out with docking. When charging gets flaky, don't keep forcing it — a damaged port can short and take the battery-management IC with it (the infamous M92T36 failure). We replace both the port and, when needed, the charging IC at board level.

Switches lead hard lives. We'll always quote before repairing, and if a console isn't economical to fix we'll say so — no fix, no fee, and we can quote you a trade-in instead.
